Joint Assault Bridge (JAB)

The JAB was designed as a solution to quickly cross obstacles in theater allowing troops, supplies, vehicles, and medical services to aid support of our military efforts.

The Joint Assault Bridge (JAB) consists of an M1A1 chassis with M1A2 suspension and without its turret, a launcher mechanism attached to the chassis, and the scissoring bridge. The JAB meets the gap crossing requirements of the Operating Forces by providing a rapidly employable, short gap, assault crossing system for the armored/mechanized forces. The scissoring bridge is capable of spanning natural and man-made obstacles up to 60 ft (18.3 m).
